Episode 7 picked up pace with more light-hearted humor. I’m soaking up all the funny moments because I know there’s lots of angst to come. I think the drama has a good balance of politics-angst-humor-cute moments-shippy moments which is hard to achieve. The cinematography continues to be amazing, and the music makes it all the more beautiful.
Time for Ruo Xi to enter the palace! Despite the huge change in Ruo Xi’s life, (from 8th bro’s estate to the palace) this episode felt rather slow to me. In all honesty, the only scenes that are significant are the 8th bro/Ruo Xi scene in the beginning and the 4th bro/Ruo Xi scene at the very end.
So, I kinda gave up on watching in HD, although it does look amazingly beautiful. It’s just so much easier to watch it quickly without having to let it buffer on and on. Anyway, ep 3-4 definitely have a shift to a darker, more serious tone. By the way, don’t let the drama with Ruo Xi/Jie Jie scare you off in episode 3. And episode 4 is a MUST WATCH, it has one of the most gorgeous scenes ever.
BBJX is still delivering the same high quality as the first episode. It has a lighter tone due to all the funny scenes with 10th bro. Still watching in HD, although it takes about twice as long to watch due to slow buffering. IT IS WORTH IT!
I wasn’t really expecting much from Bu Bu Jing Xin, thinking it’d be just another Jade Palace Lock Heart. BUT IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I’m going to mention a lot of differences between JPLH and BBJX, not to be hating on JPLH (because I DID get quite addicted to that too), but to point out how amazing and compelling BBJX is. Not to say that you shouldn’t try JPLH, as it simply depends on what you enjoy in a drama.
